Designed to bring affordability and community spirit, Nuutsumuut Lelum provides 25 affordable suites for youth, elders and families in three two-story Passive House buildings.

As Construction Manager of the dual award-winning Nuutsumuut Lelum, we were responsible for all services identified by BC Housing. Being the first certified multi-family Passive House on Vancouver Island, we knew there would be much to learn. The Pre-Construction process took one year, of which we provided number budgets, from Class D to Class B as well as individual scope budgets based on design changes. We also attended multiple meetings with the Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, the consultants and BC Housing.   To ensure we were adding value, we attended multiple Passive House courses and sent our Superintendent to the Passive Housing Builders offered by BCIT. This, in turn, has also made us one of the very few contractors on Vancouver Island to be a Passive Certified Builder. Through this knowledge and our hands-on experience, we are the best choice for energy efficient buildings.
